Four days of competitive racing during the Pendennis Cup were complemented by a shore-side event programme allowing Owners, Captains, Crew, sponsors and invited guests to enjoy the very best of Cornish hospitality.
Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th, Friday 30th, 2014: race start time 12:00am, finish between 3:00-4:00pm.
Thursday 29th May: Lay Day (no racing).
Saturday 31st May: race start time 11:00am, finish between 2:00-4300pm.
The start and finish lines were located off Pendennis Castle, with the racing yachts visible from Pendennis Point or St Mawes Castle.
Each race day will consisted of a morning Skippers briefing, pre-race guest registration and a post race bar at the Pendennis Cup marquee on Events Square, with the Friday Cider bar sponsored by Redman Whiteley Dixon.
The Event Marquee was open to the public from 11:00am until 3:00pm each race day. Information about the regatta, the yachts, the course and video of the previous days racing were on display.
Saturday 31st May – Red Arrows Display
3:30pm, Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth
As the fleet completes the final race of the week the yachts anchored off Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth, at which point the Red Arrows flew overhead, providing a spectacular finish to the Pendennis Cup 2014.
Watching the Racing
Land-Based Vantage points
The tower at the National Maritime Museum, Cornwall provided a stunning view of all the fleet whilst moored in Port Pendennis Marina before and after the racing (yachts left at 10:00am and return 3:30pm onwards).
The best place to watch the start and finish of each race was from Little Dennis (Pendennis Point) with the start/finish line positioned between Pendennis and St Mawes Castles.

Our welcome event, held at the RCYC was designed to allow all competitors, sponsors and regatta organisers to enjoy each other’s company in the relaxed environment of the Club House, which itself is steeped in classic yacht racing history.
